DALLAS — Yesterday, the Dallas Morning News reported that neighborhoods along Interstate-30, Southern Gateway Park, Klyde Warren Park, and other North Texas projects will receive a combined $80 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation thanks to grants to reconnect communities in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17), and Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-5) led a bipartisan letter with 14 other members to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to address concerns over delayed processing times impacting applicants to the Global Entry Program. This letter comes after a noticeable increase in Global Entry-related casework in congressional offices and complaints from constituents over extended wait times to process applications over the past several months.

Carla Gates has been a passionate advocate for federal action and improved worker protections at USPS in response to the death of her husband, who passed away while delivering mail in Dallas during extreme heat in June 2023.

Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) and Congressman Lance Gooden (TX-5) introduced a bipartisan, bicameral bill, the Advancing Lifesaving Efforts with Rapid Test Strips for Communities Act (ALERT Communities Act) to boost federal resources to states, local governments, Indian tribes, and tribal organizations to train and assist first responders to carry out and facilitate access to fentanyl or xylazine test strips.

Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) and Congressman Marc Molinaro (NY-19) sent a letter to House Committee on Administration Chairman Brian Steil and Ranking Member Joe Morelle requesting the Committee take steps to increase Legislative Branch procurement through the AbilityOne Commission, including by appointing an AbilityOne Representative (ABOR) tasked with overseeing AbilityOne procurement, by seeing that more is done to promote AbilityOne products in the House Supply Store, and by requiring that data on procurement be released on a regular basis.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) announced that Dallas student-athlete Tocorrean Russell was accepted by U.S. Air Force Academy as a member of the class of 2028. His acceptance includes a $400,000 scholarship covering all fees, tuition, room, board, books, clothing, and a monthly stipend.
