Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons opposing plans to convert a large industrial warehouse in Hutchins, Texas into one of the largest immigration detention facilities in the country.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett released the following statement: "I am aware of reports that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans to convert an industrial warehouse in Hutchins, Texas — a city I am proud to represent — into one of the largest detention facilities in the nation. At this time, my office has not received any formal notice, briefing, or direct communication from the Department of Homeland Security or ICE regarding this facility.

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Today, Congresswoman Crockett, along with Representatives Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar visited the Dilley Detention Center to conduct oversight and demand the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to immediately release Liam Adrian Conejo Ramos, a 5-year-old detained at the Dilley Detention Facility in Texas, and to safely reunite him with his family in Minneapolis.
