WASHINGTON – Representative Jasmine Crockett issued the following statement applauding an executive order issued last week by the Biden administration to expand access to child and home care and invest in the care workforce. The order directs federal agencies to consider requiring contractors to expand child care for their employees, and pushes all federal agencies to pursue opportunities to expand employee access to child care and expands home-based care access for veterans.

WASHINGTON – Last week, U.S. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) signed on to bipartisan legislation introduced by Reps. Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Mark Alford (MO-04), and Dusty Johnson (SD-AL) called the Amplifying Processing of Livestock in the United States (A-PLUS) Act to increase meat processing capacity and competition by allowing livestock auction market owners to invest in small and regional packing facilities. Outdated prohibitions from nearly a century ago currently restrict the ability of the livestock industry to meet increasing demand.

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, April 13, the Biden Administration announced that the Department of Health and Human Services will propose a rule expanding eligibility that would allow Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients to enroll in health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace and Medicaid. A 2021 survey of people with DACA found that 34 percent are living without any kind of health insurance, compared to ten percent of the total population.

Such cuts to SNAP would invariably result in the failure of the Farm Bill that American farmers, ranchers, food producers, and families depend on.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representatives Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), and Angie Craig (MN-02) introduced a new resolution — the Freedom to Decide Resolution — to protect doctor-prescribed access to the abortion pill mifepristone and support telemedicine across state lines, so doctors can prescribe the abortion pill wherever women are in need of health care.
