Health
With one-in-five uninsured, Texas experiences one of the worst rates of healthcare coverage in the nation. Through federal action, Congresswoman Crockett works to expand access, lower cost, and keep Texans healthy. While our state continues to not expand Medicaid, despite given the option, additional creative methods must be explored so that more can experience coverage. Crockett is a staunch defender of the Affordable Care Act, and is eager to get to work on improving the healthcare law so that costs are lowered and access is expanded.

WASHINGTON – Last week, U.S. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) signed on to bipartisan legislation introduced by Reps. Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Mark Alford (MO-04), and Dusty Johnson (SD-AL) called the Amplifying Processing of Livestock in the United States (A-PLUS) Act to increase meat processing capacity and competition by allowing livestock auction market owners to invest in small and regional packing facilities. Outdated prohibitions from nearly a century ago currently restrict the ability of the livestock industry to meet increasing demand.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) joined leaders from the Pro-Choice Caucus (PCC) and the Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC), and Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), for a press conference on Democrats’ continuing fight to protect access to medication abortion.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) pushed back against remarks made by Republican House Speaker McCarthy at a meeting with Wall Street bankers indicating he plans to cut SNAP benefits and add cruel and counterproductive work requirements to federal food assistance programs. Such cuts to SNAP would invariably result in the failure of the Farm Bill that American farmers, ranchers, food producers, and families depend on.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representatives Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), and Angie Craig (MN-02) introduced a new resolution — the Freedom to Decide Resolution — to protect doctor-prescribed access to the abortion pill mifepristone and support telemedicine across state lines, so doctors can prescribe the abortion pill wherever women are in need of health care.
