Crockett Statement on Shooting of Dallas Police Officers in Oak Cliff

WASHINGTON — On Friday, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett released the following statement on the shooting of three officers in Oak Cliff Thursday night, killing one officer, Darron Burks, and injuring two others. 

"I am heartbroken to learn of the fatal shooting of Officer Darron Burks, and I stand alongside the people of Dallas in support of his family and friends grieving his loss. I am praying for the speedy recovery of the injured officers and for the safety of our community in Oak Cliff. We must do more to address the epidemic of gun violence in our country. I pray for healing, but I am working towards action to stem the tide of these tragedies."
