Crockett Hosts Mayor's Roundtable With a Dozen of Texas Cities and Towns

February 14, 2023

DALLAS, TX – Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) issued the following statement after hosting her Mayors’ Roundtable:

“As the proud Representative of nearly 800,000 North Texans, it is vital that I bring all voices to the table, which includes the beloved mayors of this community. While the City of Dallas makes up a majority of Texas' 30th, our district also encompasses the majority of the Southern Dallas County community. As my team and I are working through the Appropriations process for the first time, I look forward to centering all corners of the district so that funds are shared and spent in an equitable manner.

“Texas’ 30th Congressional District is at its best when we all work together, and communicate effectively and efficiently. I was proud of the turnout today, with multiple Mayors’ offices represented and heard among the conversation. As our Community Office Hours tour continues, I look forward to our team providing opportunities to get help with casework relating to federal agencies, as we bring our office to every city and town.

“Having hosted our inaugural Community Office Hours in Lancaster last week, I look forward to providing services in Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Wilmer soon. In addition to today’s sit down with Mayors, we’ve been touring this district to hear directly from the people, and work to bridge the gap between services needed and access. Serving in the Texas State House, I saw firsthand just how important the bridge between local and state government can be, and now, as a federally elected official, that bond is only greater. Our residents are deeply affected by the decisions of our local governments, and I will always commit myself to being a steadfast partner at the national level.”
