Crockett Applauds President Biden's Executive Order to Address Gun Violence in America

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) released the following statement following executive action taken by President Biden to save innocent lives from gun violence:

“Texans—and Americans—know it all too well: our backyards should not be battlefields.

“President Biden’s visit to Monterey Bay is more than just another politician sending thoughts and prayers – it’s a President pledging real, meaningful action. Today’s Executive Order will keep more guns out of the hands of violent individuals by increasing the effective use of ‘red flag’ laws, strengthening efforts to hold the gun industry accountable for gun violence, and accelerating law enforcement efforts to identify and apprehend the shooters menacing our communities.

“President Biden has taken more executive action to reduce gun violence than any other president at this point in their presidency – and as a Member of Congress, I extend my full support when it comes to making legislative change. Gun violence should have no home in the richest country in the history of the world. Together we can, and must, make gun violence a thing of the past.”
