Crockett Announces $13,563,479 FAA Grant to Dallas Love Field for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility
DALLAS, TX — Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett applauded the announcement of $13,563,479 from the Federal Aviation Administration to Dallas Love Field airport for the renovation of the aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) facility on site. This 36,000 square foot building will be utilized to assist the airport in meeting federal safety requirements and extend the life of the equipment by protecting it from adverse weather conditions.
"Year after year, North Texas is experiencing greater impacts from climate change, but tourism and air travel are showing no signs of slowing down," said Rep. Crockett. "This investment is an important step towards a safe, sustainable future for our thriving aviation industry in North Texas. Thank you to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Biden Administration for recognizing the essential role of regional airports like Dallas Love Field and prioritizing the safety of all who travel through or work there."
“The much-needed renovation of Dallas Love Field’s ARFF facility would not be possible without the support of elected officials like our very own Congresswoman, Jasmine Crockett," said Director of Aviation, Patrick Carreno. "With Airport Infrastructure Grants and assertive advocates like her who see the value in the continual improvement of essential transportation facilities like ours, we have the opportunity to further increase regional economic development and ensure the most effective responses of Dallas Fire-Rescue crews who keep us all safe. We are incredibly excited to advance this project and look forward to further setting the aviation industry standard in excellence.”
As the aviation industry in TX-30 continues to grow, Congresswoman Crockett has been a strong advocate of federal measures to boost airport capacity and employee recruitment to alleviate the current U.S. pilot shortage. In July 2023, she introduced several amendments aimed at growing and boosting diversity in the aviation workforce and supporting reliever airports like Dallas Executive Airport. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, she is also a champion for the use of sustainable aviation fuels.
