FY 2025 Community Project Funding
Rep. Jasmine Crockett has submitted funding requests for important community projects in Texas' 30th Congressional District to the House Appropriations Committee.
Under guidelines issued by the Appropriations Committee, each Representative may request funding for up to 15 projects in their community for fiscal year 2025 – although only a handful may actually be funded. Projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state, local and tribal governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding. - Children’s Health Systems of Texas Referral and Evaluation of At-Risk Children (REACH) Victim Resource Services Project
- Amount Requested: $833,600
- Recipient and Address: Children’s Health Systems of Texas, 1935 Medical District Drive, Dallas, TX 75235
- Description: Funding for this project would be used to secure the necessary employment for full-time employees to backfill the social worker positions that have been vacant since Children’s Health Systems REACH lost state funding in 2022, as well as resources to children who have been victims of abuse, neglect, and other crimes.

- City of Dallas Police Department Helicopter Multi-Use Mapping Computers Project
- Amount Requested: $504,450
- Recipient and Address: City of Dallas Police Department Helicopter Unit, 1500 Marilla, Dallas, TX 75201
- Description: Funding would be used for the purchase and installation of multi-use mapping computers for the police department’s helicopters. This technology will greatly assist law enforcement by providing informational overlays on the camera viewing screen, including identification information such as street names, addresses, property lines, and other informational items which are then imaged onto the live camera feed.

- Amount Requested: $500,000

- Description: Funding for this project would be used for necessary digital forensic tools, technology, and software to enable the Dallas Police Department ICACTF to more effectively and efficiently identify victims, offenders, and criminal organized rings pertaining to internet crimes against children.

- City of Desoto Police Department Violent Crime Prevention Technology Project
- Amount Requested: $357,297
- Recipient and Address: City of Desoto Police Department, 714 E. Beltline Road, DeSoto, TX 75115
- Description: Funding for this project would be used the purchase of Ammunition Identification Technology, which will allow law enforcement to solve violent crimes much faster and more efficiently while simultaneously assisting the local prosecutor’s office by providing it with more accurate evidence when trying criminal cases before the courts.

- City of DeSoto Bolton Boone Water Pressure Zone Project
- Amount Requested: $2,700,000
- Recipient and Address: City of DeSoto, 2300 Bolton Boone Drive, DeSoto, TX 75115
- Description: Funding for this project would be used for the first phase—the design phase and planning phase—for the necessary infrastructure to serve the buildout of the Northwestern portion of the City of DeSoto, generally described as the Bolton Boone Pressure Zone. By creating this infrastructure, the City of DeSoto will safeguard the continued development in and around the Bolton Boone Pressure Zone boundaries, as well as allow enable Desoto to remain in compliance with the state’s regulatory authority requirements regarding storage capacities and minimum distribution system pressures.

- Description: Funding for this project would allow the City of Glenn Heights to conduct a citywide infiltration and inflow study which will identify specific areas that need capital improvements within the wastewater collection system.

- Amount Requested: $2,748,337

- Description: Funding for this project would be used to replace 14,891 linear feet of clay sewer pipe with an 8-inch Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sewer line within the Cinnamon Springs Estates subdivision, in Glenn Heights, TX. This project includes adding 116 wastewater laterals, installing forty (40) 48-inch manholes, eight (8) drop connection manholes, and some estimated pavement repairs in connection with the project.

- Amount Requested: $1,430,000

- Description: Funding for this project would be used for the City of Grand Prairie’s Waterford Lift Station to replace and repair pumps, wet wells, and lift station as well as replacing its retaining wall and fences.

- City of Wilmer Wastewater Pipe Project
- Amount Requested: $5,500,000
- Recipient and Address: City of Wilmer, 128 N Dallas Avenue, Wilmer, TX 75172
- Description: Funding for this project would be used to construct a new wastewater pipe by piping under the riverbed and drilling the pipe into rock to lessen the chance of another break as well as encase it with steel piping.

- Amount Requested: $5,000,000
- Recipient and Address: City of Cedar Hill, located between US 67 and East of Tar Road/Dallas County Line
- Description: Funding for this project would be used for the rights of way for the city and region’s development of the Loop 9 Texas Highway.

- City of Dallas Greening Initiative Project
- Amount Requested: $1,000,000
- Recipient and Address: City of Dallas, located at 7327 Lake June Road Dallas, TX 75217 and 2100 Echo Lake Drive Dallas Tx, 75253
- Description: Funding for this project would be used to transform two vacant lots into two new community greenspaces featuring playgrounds, walking paths, picnic areas, native plant gardens, security lights, and other park amenities that will provide recreational use to citizens and visitors and help spur but will also have economic and environmental benefits as well.

- Amount Requested: $5,000,000
- Recipient and Address: City of Dallas, 1401 Botham Jean Blvd, Dallas, TX 75215
- Description: Funding for this project would be used to transform approximately 17 acres of urban wetlands and industrial land into a greenspace urban oasis that integrates the nature and water within the built landscape of city infrastructure spanning across three blocks south of downtown Dallas and three blocks north of the Great Trinity Forest. Some of the various benefits that will be produced by this project include Urban Recreation and Renewal; Flood Mitigation; Water Quality and Conservation; Urban Water Management; and Serve as a Model for Future Recreational and Community Use Projects.

- City of Lancaster Roy Crawford Park Walking Trail Project
- Amount Requested: $1,500,000
- Recipient and Address: City of Lancaster, 2415 Sunny Meadow Drive, Lancaster, TX 75146
- Description: Funding for this project would be used to create a Walking Trail along Roy Crawford Park, which will be strategically placed to promote new and increased foot traffic into the downtown area of the City of Lancaster. The Project will help increase engagement and higher visitation rates by both locals and tourists to business establishments, eateries, and other attractions, thereby stimulating economic growth.

- Amount Requested: $3,000,000

- Description: Funding for this project would be used to relocate the City of Lancaster’s Regional Airport Taxiway to enhance the airport’s capacity to handle a growing number of flights, increase safety and navigation, while consequently also supporting economic expansion.

- Amount Requested: $2,000,000

- Description: Funding for this project would be used to provide capital improvements for the Santos Rodriguez Recreation Center, which will allow residents and visitors to use the community center for youth development programs, youth and adult athletic/recreational sport leagues and events, arts and humanities fairs and expos, and other community gatherings.
